In YEP 2024, our young editors didn’t just learn to write—they stepped fully into the world of storytelling. From brainstorming original ideas to editing their drafts and taking centre stage in a playful dramatisation of iconic literary characters, these young minds (ages 10–15) honed their craft with creativity and confidence. The program culminated in the publication of their first anthology, OnceUpon: Stories From RIEDU’s Young Editors—a vibrant collection of short stories written by children for children. Whether it’s teenagers saving New York City or an amnesiac ghost unraveling their own mystery, OnceUpon showcases imagination, skill, and the power of young voices polished through the YEP experience.
