Think Like a Creator. Write Like an Editor.
Embark on a global storytelling adventure with the Young Editors Program, virtually running from May 31 to June 29, 2025. Designed for curious and creative minds aged 10 to 15, this exclusive program selects only 10 young editors each year to dive into the magical world of story crafting—ideation, writing, and editing; the three stages of publication.
Along the way, Young Editors engage in fun activities, vibrant peer-to-peer collaboration, and join the legacy of young editors from around 15 countries who have been part of YEP over the past five years.
As Young Editors, children will sharpen their critical thinking, creative expression and experience the thrill of becoming published authors on Kindle.
The Young Editors, while having fun, discover the joy of writing by:
Learning how to think — critically, creatively, and independently
Mastering creative writing — from wild ideas to well-formed narratives
Editing like a pro — because great stories are written twice
Story ideation to publishing — watch their imagination go from draft to digital bookshelf!
Peer reviewing magic — grow through feedback and collaboration
Connecting globally — build friendships with young editors from around the world
Becoming a writer — yes, they become real-time published authors!
About the Program
The Young Editors Program is a virtual one-month writing program designed for children between 10-15 years of age. YEP boasts of a global young editors community due to its online medium.
Young Editors will e-meet twice a week every weekend from May 31 to June 29, 2025
It’s an intensive 8-week program filled with lots of fun and activities. Young Editors will have ample time to work on their tasks for the whole week.
There will be eight sessions and one bonus ninth session. Sessions will take place every Saturday and Sunday.
Google Meet will be the primary mode used. All sessions will be recorded. Recordings will be shared upon request in case of absence.
The session timings will be finalised once the group has been formed, thus accommodating the different time zones.
The sessions are designed to guide Young Editors through the entire creative process—starting with ideation, drafting their first piece, learning editing techniques, and then revising their second draft before the final submission.
YEP also ensures that the Young Editors not only write but also review their peer’s work in a buddy system which reinforces the learning.
Please note: At RIEDU, we believe everyone has a story to tell. We focus on the inherent storyteller in the child and encourage them to write in their own unique way. At the heart of Young Editors journey is editing—the art of sculpting words until their true beauty shines through. Young Editors will learn to edit and polish their writing.
